FOR THE LOVE OF FALSE LASHES

Hello fabulous people,I sincerely apologise for my long absence,it was due to unforeseen reasons but am grateful to God. I know you all have forgiven me,muah blowing kisses catch it if you can.
Back to the matter,false eyelashes were believed to be for models,theatre, photoshoots etc. Now the story is different,false eyelashes have gone mainstream. False eyelashes add glamour to the eyes like the popular saying 'eyes are the mirror to the soul'. There are several brands to choose from but make sure its human hair which is reusable.
There are different types of false eyelashes from individual to strip eyelashes,individual eyelashes are a bit more difficult to use,you can do it yourself or get someone to help you with it,can last for days,weeks even months.while the strip lashes are easy to use,can last for a day or two.For the glue I always will recommend Duo eyelash adhesive clear white but if you have sensitive eyes please get a eyelash adhesive that is latex free.
There are different things to consider when choosing false eyelashes~

What look do you want to achieve- If it's a everyday look you should consider natural looking ones.

Where you are going to- For a date,night out with the girls,parties,wedding etc you should consider a eyelash like no3 in the pictures.
If you want some more sassy look you could either go for semi-permanent falsies or eyelash surgery with caution.

Can I reuse my false eyelashes- Yes you can even severally as long as they are made with human hair and you don't use mascara when you wear your lashes. Just use tweezers to pull out the dried glue after you remove them and store in their original case until you want to use them again.

If you have been on the fence about using false eyelashes,I hope you feel more confident to get now and use. Hurry time waits for no man,begin to flaunt those lashes now. Winks till my next post.

HOW GOOD IS MILK OF MAGNESIA FOR OILY SKIN?

Milk of Magnesia, an antacid and laxative, often referred to as a wonderful, and inexpensive primer for people with oily skin. Milk of Magnesia works well but a regular use can do more harm than good to your skin. There are several reasons and they are:
Milk of Magnesia is an effective oil absorber
The active ingredient in Milk of Magnesia is Magnesium Hydroxide, a substance that has the ability to absorb lipids on the skin. The degreasing action of MOM is also enhanced by another of its components, Sodium Hypochlorite,commonly known as bleach. If you smear MOM all over your oily skin,you will soon a great reduction on shine.
The problem with Milk of Magnesia
It is bad for skin because of its alkaline ph. The skin's ph is slightly acidic,which creates a good environment for good bacteria that live on our skin and can protect it from nasty ones, and everything else,that constantly attacks it. When this acidic mantle is damaged,skin becomes dry,and more prone to irritations and even acne.
That is why skincare products are formulated within the skin's pH range(from 5 to 8). Milk of Magnesia has PH of 10.5. This is way too high and if MOM is used regularly, it can cause havoc on your skin.

WHAT DO I DO?
If you have been applying MOM to your skin,just discontinue use. Don't worry there are other ways to deal with oily skin. Here are a few topical “cosmetic” absorbents that can easily replace MOM:

Rimmel London fix and perfect pro primer 002 is a skin perfecting formula for 5-in-1 results: smoothes,resurfaces,brightens,mattifies and protects.it also prolongs foundation wear.
A Primer glides over the skin filling in lines,wrinkles and pores with amazing silicone and luminous light reflectors to create a smooth,flawless appearance.
Sue Devitt Microquatic fortifying primer with hydrolyzed soy protein and water lily extract: This unique microemulsion treatment primer deeply nourishes as it infuses hydration,energy and vitality into the skin.delivering immediate results. Gentle water lily extract hydrates the fragile eye area. Time released soy proteins detect and control sebum production.
If you have found this post helpful, please leave a comment below and you can also share what primer you use. Don't also forget to share with your friends,colleagues,loved ones etc.
Stay beautiful and have a fabulous weekend.

WHAT IS YOUR SKIN TYPE?

Good morning fabulous people,TGIF.I got emails and suggestions that i should write a post on skin types.I had read several articles on how to make my skin better before i got my holy grail which is black soap.
A popular Russian saying states that,after the age of 30,a woman looks the way she deserves...If you always want to look great,the first step is to determine your skin type this will help improve your skin and slow ageing process.
Skin types include normal,oily,dry,and sensitive. There are some people who have a combination of skin types in different areas of their skin

 NORMAL SKIN TYPE
Normal skin is not too dry and not too oily. It has:

* A radiant complexion
* Barely visible pores
* No or few imperfections
* No severe sensitivity

 COMBINATION SKIN TYPE
A combination skin type can be dry or normal in some areas and oily in others,such as T-zone (nose,forehead,and chin). A lot of people have combination skin,which may be due to different types of skin care in different areas.

Combination skin can produce:
* Shiny skin
* Blackheads
* Overly dilated pores

DRY SKIN TYPE
Dry skin can produce:
* Dull complexion
* Almost invisible pores
* More visible lines
* Less elasticity

When exposed to drying factors,skin can crack or become itchy or irritated. If your skin is very dry,it can become rough especially on the backs of your hands,arms,and legs.

Dry skin maybe caused or made worse by:

* Genetic factors
* Aging or hormonal changes
* Ingredients in soaps,cosmetics,or cleansers
* Medications

Here are some tips for taking care of dry skin:

* Use mild,gentle soaps or cleansers
* Do not scrub while bathing or drying
* Wear gloves when using cleaning agents,solvents, or household detergents
* Use a rich moisturiser right after bathing

OILY SKIN TYPE
Oily skin can produce:

* Enlarged pores
* Dull or shiny complexion
* Blackheads,pimples, or other blemishes

To take care of oily skin:

* Wash your skin not more than twice daily
* Use a gentle cleanser and do not scrub
* Use products labeled "noncomedogenic". They tend not to clog pores
* Do not pick,pop, or squeeze pimples. This prolongs healing time

SENSITIVE SKIN TYPE
If your skin is sensitive,try to find out what your triggers are so you can avoid them. You may have sensitive skin for a variety of reasons,but often it is in response to particular skin care products

Sensitive skin can show up as:

* Itching
* Dryness
* Burning

BASICS OF SKIN CARE
* Wash your skin thoroughly everyday and do not wear makeup to bed
* Moisturise your skin
* Stay hydrated

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MAKEUP COLOURS FOR DARK SKIN

Hello fabulous people,TGIF. Dark skin popularly known as bronze ebony in makeup where i belong struggle with numerous problems when it comes to enhancing their beauty through makeup,i will share tips for your skin,blush colour and your lips. Enjoy:

         SKIN:
  1. Dark skin women tend to have oilier skin. Our skin becomes darker throughout the day when the oil in our skin mixes with foundation or powder,if your skin is very oily try a foundation that is a shade lighter than your skin to help balance this out. You will look brighter than usual but it will even out after about an hour. If your skin is oily please do not keep adding powder to your face to keep off the shine,you are simply making a mask of makeup and your skin will become darker and darker. Try buying a blot powder which does not add colour or makeup to your face or get oil blotting sheets they are formulated to get rid of the shine.
  2. You may look ashy when you apply too much powder,powder is usually sold with a sponge,it is only to be used for touch ups not the initial application. When you apply powder with a sponge,you are going to apply too much powder,which will end up looking like an ashy mask. It is best to use a face powder brush and sweep on your powder. Let the foundation do its work of covering imperfections. Trying to use your powder to cover imperfections,you will run a risk of applying too much .
BLUSH:

A lot of dark women are afraid of blush because they think it looks too artificial on their skin,since we do not have naturally flushed skin. If you are still looking a bit flat,with no warmth to your face,it could be because you are not wearing any blush. Blush is another way to add warmth to the dark skin,we stay away from bright colours because we think they will make us look ashy, we tend to act safe by applying blush colours like brown,dark berries and plum. If you are very dark skinned go for very bright colours like very bright pink and bold oranges eye rolling already?listen the colours might scare you due to the packaging,the good news is that when you apply such colours on a dark surface it will not show like that on our skin. Since the colours are so bold,they will show up on our skin and give our skin life. It is important that we blend the colour on our skin not just placing it.

LIPS:

For the lips almost the same rules applies.Darker skin tones do not look great in pale,light lipsticks. Deeper tones are always the safest like wines,deep reds,browns and plums. We can also wear the bright pinks,reds and oranges. The trick is lining the lips first with brown lip liner or lipstick underneath,what this does is to neutralize the bold colour you are going to put on top,so it will not be shocking against your skin. Please remember when you see a lip colour it will wear differently on each person,you will have to keep in mind your skin colour.
If you have dark lips,before you apply any lip colour,blot your lips with loose powder this will help bring out the colour of the lip colour you are applying.

New posts will be uploaded once a week,i think Friday because it is weekend already and you might get that makeup look,beauty and makeup tips you might want to try for that event you want to attend during the weekend. Am open to suggestions since i have not decided yet.

BLACK SOAP FOR A CLEAR HEALTHY SKIN

BLACK SOAP
Its my first post so i am super excited after so much time spent on how to go about it,thanks to Bimpe of May makeovers,Debby and Tope Blaq.finally this is it.
Black soap has been used for generations in Africa,its is popularly called ose dudu which contains antioxidants. The soap is made from the ashes of plantain skin,cocoa pod and palm leaves,and palm kernel.
 I have had a problematic/very sensitive skin for a long time until i discovered my holy grail which is black soap,by using black soap acne pimples has been kept at bay.
  Black soap whether bought in Nigeria,Ghana,Togo,Benin Republic is same but little differences in the ingredients used in making it as long as it is in its natural state it can do wonders. There are no special ways to use the black soap,you use like every other soap but note less is more because it lathers a lot. Black soap has antibacteria and anti-fungal properties,it will improve your skin tone,fade skin discolourations,helps to heal skin problems like acne,blackheads,eczema. Antioxidants found in black soap will protect the skin against free radicals which causes premature skin aging,wrinkles and facial lines.Black soap is soothing on dry and irritated skin. Black soap removes makeup from your skin without leaving any residue,now you can save money from buying makeup remover.
 Please leave your comments below,see you till my next post..........................
